Fallout 4 DLC Info and Season Pass Price Hike

If you’ve been waiting on some information before you pull the trigger on the season pass for Fallout 4, Bethesda dished out some details today about just that.

The first bits of DLC will be rolling out in March, April, and May of this year, while more will be rolling out throughout the year.

The first add-on is called Automatron and let’s build your own robot companion. Here’s what Bethesda has to say about it: “The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!” Automatron will be $9.99 when if releases in March and will also include new weapons for you to use.

The second add-on is Wasteland Workshop, which adds the ability to make cages to capture humans and monsters and then tame them. You can then pit them in fights against one another or even against your fellow settlers. The whole prospect sounds a bit scuzzy, but it’s not like Fallout is a happy, rainbows-out-of-your-ass world anyway. On the more mundane side, you can also craft new furniture for your settlement. Wasteland Workshop will be $4.99 and released in April.

F4DLC2

The third and final announced piece of DLC is Far Harbor. This piece seems a bit more in the realm of Fallout 3”s Point Lookout. It takes place on an island separate from the rest of the game and is, according to Bethesda, the largest landmass they’ve ever made for an add-on. With a mystery to unravel and the option to side with one of three factions, Far Harbor is looking to be the most story-drive of the three add-ons. Far Harbor is going to release in May and be $24.99.

F4DLC3

Given that these aren’t the only pieces of DLC planned, Bethesda also announced that the price of the season pass will be going up for the current $29.99 to $49.99 beginning March 1st. That means if you’ve been thinking about getting the season pass, which includes all the above mentioned DLC as well as any future bits, it would be in your best interest to fork over the money now.

Finally, if you’re interested in these but haven’t purchased the season pass yet, you can sign up to participate in the closed beta over at Bethesda.net. If you’re selected, you’ll get the full version of the DLC, complete with achievements/trophies and won’t need to pay for it.
