If you’ve been in the market for a shooter (“shmup” if you’re nasty), Ghost Blade HD, which was previously only available for the Dreamcast, is coming to Playstation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, and Steam on February 28th.
This wasn’t a release that came out during the Dreamcast’s retail lifespan, Ghost Blade was released in 2015. The Dreamcast has had a surprisingly healthy catalog of releases since it was put out to pasture by Sega in 2001.
Sporting polished up visuals, three ship types, practice and score attack mode, 60 FPS, two player local co-op and trophy/achievement support (also has a platinum trophy on the PS4), there’s a lot for the $9.99 package.
The Xbox 360 had more than its share of impressive shooter ports (Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun come to mind), so it’s nice to see the tradition live on bringing them to more modern consoles.
