Ixalan – Magic: The Gathering Card Set Impressions

If I’m being completely honest, I’m not a fan of these double-faced enchantments and artifacts in Ixalan. It just seems like you need to jump through way too many hoops in order to get a mediocre land card. These aren’t really the kind of things I enjoy doing when I play Magic, I guess. Also, the fact that all these are rare kind of blows my mind.

The land half of this card is probably my favorite of all these double-faced cards, as it is basically Gaea’s Cradle, which is crazy powerful. It just seems like it’s going to take too long to get online and by that time I’m not sure it’s even going to be worth it. Hopefully I’m wrong about all of these and they turn out to be good, but I’m not holding my breath for that.

Here are the other four enchantments, if you want to check them out.

I think I actually like these double-faced artifacts less than I do the enchantments, but I guess I’ll talk about the one I dislike the least.

As I already mentioned, all of these cards seem really slow to get going and Treasure Map is no exception. That being said, I would still totally put this into my Revel in Riches deck. I guess there’s not much more to say than that.

And here are the other artifacts.
