A bit of a heads up for all you PlayStation Plus members. Sony announced today that the price of their PlayStation Plus subscription service will be increasing on September 22, 2016. Starting then 12 months will cost $59.99 USD/$69.99 CAD, 3 months will cost $24.99 USD/$29.99 CAD, and 1 month memberships will increase to $11.99 CAD in Canada, while remaining $9.99 USD in the U.S. Existing members won’t see an increase until they renew on or after September 22, so you can still lock in the lower price before then.
This will be the first increase in the price of PlayStation Plus since it began in 2010. The new prices put in on par with that of its competitor Xbox Live. PlayStation Plus is a service for Sony’s gaming platforms that offers free games, discounts, and other benefits. It is also necessary if you want to play games online with the PlayStation 4.
