ROWYCO 17 – Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (Genesis/Mega Drive)

Welcome to Mighty Morphin May! Every week this month, Jason Arriola and Dominic Chavez are going to be picking games based on the Power Rangers. We’re not just covering the “Mighty Morphin” era, but Mighty Morphin May has a nice ring to it, so we hope you can forgive us that technicality!

All things must come to and end, and, sadly, Mighty Morphin May has run its course. Thankfully, we’re going out on a high note! This week, we’re covering Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. The sound capabilities of the Genesis are completely different than the other three systems we did for this month, so this very different sounding compared to the others we covered. This was also based on the…concept album “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: A Rock Adventure”. Hikoshi Sakimoto did a phenomenal repurposing that into something the Genesis is a capable of outputting. It’s a great listen and a great way to close out this month!

We want to thank you for going on this journey with us. We had a lot of fun and hope you did too!

The ROWYCO theme song, “Kaze Fuma”, was composed by chibi-tech and our logo was designed by Melissa Diaz. Like what you hear?
